PhD in Education, George Mason University
Concentration: Higher Education
I have passed Portfolios I & II and am in the coursework phase of my program. I am not taking courses this semester.
In the fall, I will be in my final semester of coursework and will be taking:
COMM 775: Media Content Analysis
HE 897: Librarians' Engagement in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (directed reading)
I also plan to defend Portfolio III and advance to candidacy in the fall.
I plan to defend my dissertation proposal in early 2026. My research, which is tentative until then, surrounds librarians' experiences in the classroom, including the ways they have learned to teach, their partnerships with faculty, and their engagement with the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning and related scholarship about teaching. I currently intend to do a three-manuscript dissertation, with each manuscript focusing on one of those themes.
